Our school is located in a lovely, pleasant, and calm village with all the local shops nearby. It is a small school with 130 students. We opened our doors to Erasmus over 10 years ago and have been regularly hosting Erasmus students for the past 3 years. We organise a customised stay for each group, including cultural activities and internships. We have a building entirely dedicated to welcoming groups, giving them total autonomy. This building is located on the school premises and facilitates real exchanges with our French students.

Mentoring

Every welcome is different, as we tailor the welcome to the number of young people and the day and time of arrival. One person at the MFR is entirely dedicated to these arrangements, ensuring a high level of availability and responsiveness. The MFR has a wide network of partners in the region, enabling us to find the most interesting work placement for the student. We have a relationship of trust with each company, and this enables the young person to be welcomed in the most serene and caring way possible. Being totally autonomous allows students to grow considerably in terms of maturity and responsibility. It’s a secure autonomy, because in addition to the group leader, there’s always someone present on the premises. We organise regular activities with our French students, so that everyone can benefit from each other.

Our mentors speak:

Frequency of mentoring meetings: Once a week

A trainee’s success story

During my Erasmus+ mobility in La Force, I interned at a fantastic charity shop called Ding Fring. It was an incredible experience, especially since I dream of starting my own charity shop in Italy. At Ding Fring, I learned about sustainable business practices, managing inventory, and customer service. The team was super supportive and taught me a lot about running a successful charity shop. Living in Bergerac also helped me improve my French and dive into the local culture. This whole experience made me even more excited and confident about opening my own charity shop back home.

Bergerac, France 🇫🇷

Bergerac boasts a heritage cherished by its inhabitants, an incomparable quality of life, and a strong reputation for savoir-vivre. Numerous events are organized throughout the year. The Dordogne River and Cyrano de Bergerac await you! Located in the Purple Périgord region, Bergerac, a historic city, invites you to a fascinating and picturesque visit. Take the time to stroll through the narrow streets lined with half-timbered houses and numerous ancient mansions. At the city center stands the 19th-century Église Notre-Dame, built according to the original plans by Viollet-le-Duc and classified as a historical monument. Crossed by the Dordogne River, you can admire the back and forth of the gabares, traditional flat-bottomed boats once used for transporting goods. Since 1985, the city has been designated a City of Art and History by the Ministry of Culture. It is one of the three sub-prefectures of Dordogne. Bergerac, “reflection of the Dordogne“, fully enjoys the charm of its river, considered one of the most beautiful and cleanest in Europe. The Southwest is certainly one of the regions in France with the most diverse cuisines. One of them, the cuisine of Périgord, owes its flavors to skilled blends.
